Multi Disciplinary Forum
Teenage Cancer Trust’s Multi Disciplinary Forum are a leading body of experts whose aim is to ensure that teenagers and young adults with cancer have access to age appropriate and holistic care.
They will do this by sharing and developing best practice; and by leading the development of standardised equitable care.
Key roles:
- To lead the development of expert knowledge locally, nationally and internationally
- To act as advisers and educators to peers
- To act as patient advocates
- To develop high standards psycho-social care and services
- To insure patient involvement and empowerment is central to service development
Key goals:
- Act as advisers and educators to peers
- Raise the profile of the group amongst relevant health professional and bodies
- Publicise and promote the work of the Multi Disciplinary Forum members and peers through a range of mediums
- Develop a national network of teenage and young adult nurses and allied health professionals
- Develop mechanisms to share expertise and knowledge through local seminars, workshops or road shows
- Formalise and develop education plan for the following year
- Gain advisory status for education and teenage and young adult cancer
Teenage Cancer Trust's Nurse consultants lead on the MDF and it is currently chaired by Sue Morgan MBE.
