As a volunteer
Volunteering is a great way for you to make use of your skills, get involved in your local community and gain valuable experience while supporting the work of Teenage Cancer Trust.
We're always looking for helpful and reliable volunteers, no matter how much or how little time you're able to spare. We look for enthusiasm, creativity, energy and a passion to help young people fight cancer.
Examples of what you could you do as an individual volunteer:
- Bucket collecting and helping out at our many and varied events nationwide
- Fundraising
- Admin support at our Teenage Cancer Trust head office in London
- Admin support for our regional teams
- Assistance with Direct Marketing mail outs
- Training and Development
- Research
- Family Support – e.g. offer transport for patients and families
- Work with Teenage Cancer Trust as part of Duke of Edinburgh Award Schemes
- Getting involved with Treks and Challenges both as an entrant and a supporter
- Write to your local MP about improving cancer services for young people at your local hospital
- Bereavement counseling
Teenage Cancer Trust greatly values and appreciates the work of volunteers; many of our initiatives wouldn't be possible without the generous amount of time given by our volunteers. And we welcome any ideas you have too!
Teenage Cancer Trust is unable to accept the many kind offers of volunteering on the units themselves but we’d love your help in many other ways. Also our bucket collectors do have to be aged 16 or over but we have many other ways in which young people under 16 can volunteer.
